(ii) (1018). What are the dhamma with root causes which are eliminated
by the three higher Maggas?
There are the root causes, viz, greed, hatred and bewilderment left uneliminated (by Sotapatti Magga).
~These are the dhamma with root causes that are eliminated by the three
higher Maggas.
There are also defilements existing together with these, the aggregate of Sensation, the aggregate of Perception, the aggregate of Volitional Activities and the aggregate of Consciousness which are associated with them; and physical action, verbal action and mental action arising on account of them.
~These are the dhamma with root causes that are eliminated by the three
higher Maggas.
(ii) (1409). What are the dhamma with root causes which are eliminated by
the three higher Maggas?
There is thought which arises together with restlessness; leaving aside bewilderment in this, there are the remaining thoughts.
~ These are the dhamma with root cause which are eliminated by
the three higher Maggas.
There are four thoughts which arise together with greed but are not associated with wrong view; and two thoughts which arise together with distress.
These are the dhamma with root causes some of which (that do not lead to the four miserable existences) are eliminated by the three higher Maggas, while some of which (that lead to the four miserable existences) are eliminated by the three higher Maggas.
