        (ii)  (1177).    What are the dhamma which are associated with hindrances
                                    but are not hindrances?

        There are dhamma which are associated with hindrances.  Leaving aside the hindrances (which are included in the dhamma associated with hindrances), there are the aggregate of Sensation, the aggregate of Perception, the aggregate of Volitional Activities and the aggregate of Consciousness.
        ~These are the dhamma which are associated with hindrances
                 but are not hindrances.

        (ii)  (1512).    What are the dhamma which are associated with hindrances
                                      but are not hindrances?
                               
        Leaving aside the hindrances, there are:  the remaining (12) demeritorious thoughts.
        ~These are the dhamma which are associated with hindrances
                but are not hindrances.

        The dhamma which are not associated with hindrances should not be taken as dhamma which are hindrances which are also associated with hindrances, or as dhamma which are associated with hindrances, but are not hindrances.
